How do you change the battery on a 2003 Jetta keyless entry remote?

I can't seem to find any screws anywhere on the device to open it up.How do you change the battery on a 2003 Jetta keyless entry remote?
Its kinda tricky, you have to pull the key apart. You will see a line running vertically if you have the key held up longways. You need to pull at each end REALLY HARD and it will come apart in two pieces. Now the part that has the buttons you will have to use a small screwdriver and pry it apart . After prying it apart the battery is right there. If you dont feel comfortable doing it take it to a VW dealer and let them do it for you, it will cost like $20, but a new key is $90, and another $30 to get it programmed to your car.

How do i change the battery cables on my ford taurus?

I'm having some problems starting my car and I think the battery cables are corroded, but I don't know how to change them, does anybody knows and maybe have a diagram or something?? thanks!!!!How do i change the battery cables on my ford taurus?
Go to your local auto parts store and ask for the positive and negative cables for your car (but you probably only need a negative, that one all ways seems to take the worst beating). When you get them you will see what is involved in changing them. Like how many connectors there are on them etc. It is not an overly difficult job and if you can change your own oil, air cleaner, etc. I don't think you will have any problems. How do i change the battery cables on my ford taurus?
you have to cut the old ones off

use BIG DIKES or bolt cutter

replace w/ new ones
Probably no need to change, but you may need to clean the connections at the battery terminals. For this you will need the correct wrench size plus a specialty wire brush designed to remove the corrosion at the terminals. Just be careful not to short across the terminals or you will get a shock. When clean test to see if you have any improvement. If not you may need to have you battery tested. Many auto supply stores will do this for free. If this is not th problem you may need a tune up or have a mechanic check to see if there are other issues,
the cables probably just need to be removed and cleaned.your local auto parts store has a spray cleaner that will remove the corrosion.

Be Careful, you wil be dealing with acid based corrosion.wear gloves.

How do you change the battery of a fire alarm that's on the ceiling of the second floor? ?

There is basically no second floor ground between this area of the house and the ceiling, and we don't have a ladder that reaches from the first floor to the second floor ceiling! What to do? The battery needs replacing and it keeps on beeping? :( Is there a place that rents out ladders or maybe a service that replaces batteries for smoke alarms in hard-to-reach places? How do you change the battery of a fire alarm that's on the ceiling of the second floor? ?
may have to rent scaffoldingHow do you change the battery of a fire alarm that's on the ceiling of the second floor? ?
you must have a Home Depot rental store near you somewhere you can rent a 12 ft extension ladder for about $8 and get this done or a 12' step ladder for about $15 and do it yourself. If the alarm is hardwired then you may need to replace it but it sounds like a battery. Don't pay someone to do this ...Its too easy to do yourself!
They make long poles with attachments that are used to change light bulbs in very high places. Maybe there's an attachment you can use to grip and turn the smoke alarm? Most of them are easy to remove once you have the proper grip.
You can buy a long pole at the Home Depot or similar store that is ment for changing light bulbs in high places. Use the pole to unscrew the detector (usually 1/2 turn) from its mouting plate. It is a bit tricky, but it can be done.
I believe Home Depot would rent ladders, if not, check your yellow pages.

...and it would be much easier to move the alarm to a more convenient position.
