im not sure that they can just replace the battery. my nano battery gave out and they gave me a new one for $60 even though my 1yr warranty was up.How much does it cost to change the ipod battery?
it depends on wich i pod nano you have. if you go to

www.rapidrepair.com its about 20 dollars for the battery all you need to do is send your ipod there and get it replaced. or you can order the battery and tools and do it yourself.....
If you have the skill that is required to do it yourself that to be honest is not that much then around 10 pounds or 30 pounds if you send it of for ipod doctor to do themselves !
I'm pretty sure they don't do this. If there's an issue with the iPod and it's still under warranty, they'll just give you a replacement. If it's older and the battery is just worn, it might be time for a new one.
on 'ebay' you could get one real cheap. $20 maybe.
