Short out while changing battery cables?

95 mazda millenia, car worked fine until we attempted to change batt.cables, what went wrong %26amp; how do we fix it?Short out while changing battery cables?
If you hooked the cables up backwards, you blew one or more fuses.

There is a Main Fuse in the engine compartment fuse block. This is a 120 amp fuse. Using a test light, check for power on both sides of this fuse.

I have also seen the alternators die quite often when this happens.Short out while changing battery cables?
Make sure cable are not crossed, then get some one to check your fuses, in the engine compartment and under the dash, unhook battery before you take out any fuses or mess with anything, you could of also shorted out the computer
