are you sure its the remote control? if so, it will be just as much work to change the fan back to pullchain as it would be to install a new remote system.
to change it back to pullchain, you must shut the power off, then open up the canopy covering the electrical box and wires. in there, there will be a remote control receiver. you would have to disconnect it and connect the fan wires directly to the house wires.
to put in a new remote system, just go to lowes/home depot and pick up a universal remote control fan switch. install the new receiver wire for wire where the old one was. i suggest reading the instructions because it will have information in there that will make it go easier.
